Is there an alternative way to grant access to outside numbers for extensions without using the call discrimination list and/or abbreviated dialling.

Something like a black list stating non-granted numbers or white list for the allowed numbers to be dialled.

With call discrimination all numbers in a range have to be spelled out in detail when you want just one number to be accessed. I want to bypass this work.

There is no way to bypass CD. All numbers you will dial in the system should be listed in CD. But you can barred a certain number in LCR table. Example you can black listed an external number 92708899 and reroute the call to an invalid number.
LCDDI:TAB=ENT,ENTRY=92708899,PRE=9898,TRC=8; Anyone who dials 92708899 will go to 9898. 9898 can be unassign extension series or you can use operator number instead. But no way to bypass call descrimination.

Ok Thanks.

Another way is to use the LCR DNT1 or DNT2 where the TOOL parameter can block calls.

you mean toll, but I never saw toll in action. Has no sense.

Sorry, yes it's toll and this is working, except from extension with traf=xx1515xx.

mundus,

can you explain a bit more in detail about this method?

What You See Is What You Get

I try, outgoing dest is 0 and this is LC in NANSI:
LCDDI:TAB=DNT1 or 2,ENTRY=012345678,TOLL=000000000000000 etc.
all extension are blockked to call 0-12345678 except extension with TRAF=xx1515xx( tcd 15 ). TOLL:d1=tcd 14, d2=tcd 13 .. d15= tcd 0, where 0 is not allowed to call and 1 is allowed.

very interesting indeed, I think this is a nice alternative for NACDS...

Hi,

TOLL is used for recording billing info & should not be ignored...In case you Keep TOLL=000000000000000 ,calls will not appear on your Billing system...

Cheers

from alex :

TOLL parameter

25.2 FUNCTION
The parameter states which TCD category values between 0 and 14 for the users that will deny/allow the completion of the call. TCD category 15 is by default allowed to complete the call.

don't see what this has to to with call logging??

Hi,

Once you have LC enabled, Put the billing system on line & see the diffrence keeping
TOLL=000000000000000 & Toll=11111111111111..

Cheers,

Thanks Patcher and Mundus.

Made solution like this:

In dnt1 I put exceptions. (granted numbers with toll is all 1's)

In dnt2 I put the numbers that may not be dialled by setting parameter toll to all zeroes.

Works great!

Singhbrindisi:

In the call logging system the calls that were forbidden (toll=0) do not appear. But I am only intersted in reporting the calls that succeeded and have to be payed for.
