I've been working with a client on updating many aspects of their IT infrastructure. One of the points I hilighted was their use of an "old" bit of software called "G-Lock" (I don't know the version specifics). This software manages their email campaigns... they feed it a list of email addresses, it sends out the email to these addresses.
They manage replies from these mailouts manually(!!!!!!) which ensures that replies requesting removal are handled... but (surprise) it's taking them too much time to manage. I don't have any idea about email campaign management tools... but I immediately said that there had to be a better way to do this task.
This company is UK based (and will have to adhere to UK law regards email campaigns - but I doubt this is of concern to anyone) and currently has a (old) license to use G-Lock (not current version).
Has anyone had experience using an email campaign management tool (or anything like G-Lock)? The client uses WindowsXP as a host operating system and have a dedicated SMTP and POP server to communicate with. I wouldn't see them considering a third party email campaign website solution though(where you pay X to have Y emails sent - and they offer a console to report on distribution etc).
Cheers,
Jeff
