Alternate row color continuous forms and datasheet view.

I have just spent a good hour trying to find out how
to change color on alternate rows on continuous forms. There
is a lot of information but I could not apply any. I would
like to change the color on alternate rows for continuous
forms and also forms in datasheet view. I do not know if I
should post this as two posts or one. I do not want to use
conditional formatting as I do not want the controls to
change color only the background. Does anyone have any
good suggestions or examples? Continuous Forms and Forms
in datasheet view both. Thanks in advance.

If you are unwilling to use conditional formatting then you are stuck with going after the API. Try this
