Sorry for posting in this topic but I thought this audience would be best to assist me.

I am looking for a recommendation on a quality "mail relay" company that will allow me to securely route email messages through temporarily if my exchange server goes down.

The messages routed would simply be notification messages to support staff to inform them of a problem. Obviously I cannot route these messages through my exchange server if it is down.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried asking your ISP if they provide this service?

I have check with both my Primary and Secondary ISP. Both do not provide mail relay services.

I have been told that this can "easily" be setup with IIS SMTP server but I cannot get it to work with that middleman (Mail relay service)

The account that is used to send the email alert does not have a mailbox on our exchange server. It is actually a fake address on our domain.

The monitoring program that we used allow us to make up a "From" address.

Typically these alerts get routed through our exchange server, but if the exchange server is down I need an alternate route to send these alerts messages through.

I ended up calling my ISP and can now route outgoing mail through them when needed.

Thank you noveyron for the tip.

I had tried my ISP previously and the person I spoke to tried selling me a backup email service.

This time I called and got a much more knowledgable person who provided me with their SMTP address.

Works perfectly. thank you
