Does anybody know how to set up Alternate Call Routing.
I have 2 sites linked together with a lease line (Small Community Network unique number range on each site.
this works well. What I need to do is set up a alternative route so if the lease line fails the call is routed via the ISDN. This needs to be transparent to the user. I understand that this was a feature introduced in version 2.0 which must be available on version 2.1.

Thanks in advance

create a LCR with short codes to route Via the IP trunk & then a fall back route to use the pstn.
When the data link is down calls should route over the PSTN.

So for example would you create the following in the LCR table
Main route
shortcode- 301
telephone- .
feature- Dial
line group 1 (VPN line)

Alternate Route
shortcode- 301
telephone- 01923xxxxxx
feature- Dial
line group 0 (PSTN line)

do you leave the time out (secs) 30 at default

In alternate route I would recommend to set time out to 5 sec or less, so when VPN line is busy or its down it would route call in 5 sec time to PSTN...

I understand that this was not possible only when it was done whit a wan programd on the IPO. And that the router that is placed for the leased line must have a Bri backup to the other side.

I tested it and i dont get it work with the IPO.

A backup circuit would be required if you wished to continue routing data & make calls sing Voip, if it is only calls that require backup then when the link goes down SCN would no longer be operating & the calls should follow the LCR.

Personaly I prefer to have a manual overide rataher than rely on automatic fallback.
If the fallback works correctly the failure may not be noticed untill either an excessive bill arives for the fallback also fails resulting in total failure.

So would my programming be correct?

It looks ok to me, although I am unable to test at present.
