This is a personal question. No one at work has had this issue come up. My wife is an on line university student going back for her Masters. The papers she is composing must be in APA format. Prior to submitting the report/paper she verifies that it is complient with APA format. When the instructor opens her transmission, it is altered. The margins are no longer 1" and the text is not centered any longer. She has office 2007, the instructor has office 2003. Prior to transmitting she is saving the paper as a word 97-2003 document so the instructor can open it. Any clue on how to correct is greatly appreciated.

I assume they must be in Word format? .pdf wouldn't do?

Click on the Office button in Word 2007, then select Prepare, then Run Compatibility Checker. The Compatibility Checker will tell you if there is any formatting in the Word 2007 document that is not compatible with Word 2003. If there are uncompatible items then these should be changed before transmitting the document otherwise it may be altered when it is opened in Word 2003.

Cheers.
