I did an alter database, kdbindex3 = 1024000, go and it went in as part of the default/system segments, i need it to be part of the index_segment, can someone please tell me how to move it, and if i cant do that how do i remove it and then install it into that segment.
Thank you

You may be able to move this allocation to another segment--if it's on a single device. See the section on segments in the Sys Admin Guide. Here's a link to the on-line version for 12.0 (you'll need to navigate to Chapter 23).

If the allocation's not on its own device, you may be out of luck (unless you're willing to play around in the sysuages table--if you get it right, this should work, if not, your DB may be hosed).

What you'd need to do to patch an allocation is change the value in sysusages.segmap to the correct value to match the segment you wanted to add the space to. (Although I'm not sure how well this will work if the space isn't on its own device; it should work, but I've never tried it.)

The other alternative is to go back to the dump you did right before you issued the ALTER and start fresh.
