Can anyone tell me how to get the serial number of an alteon ad 3 and ad4. The systems are running and the labels are gone. Is there a way by snmp? I have the Alteon EMS, but i don't see any serial number.

Thanx for help !

The best I can give you is /info/sys

Then you can see the mac address.

Hi GTomte,

thanx for reply. But i just need the serial number. Thanx again.

The serial number for the Alteon is the MAC address.

Yes, it was before, and therefore could be correct if the device is an older model. I have asked Alteon, and they say that after Nortel came in charge, there came new serial numbers.

Use the MAC address and see if that is good enough.
