I want to display the first hundred or so characters of a database field in some ALT text triggered by a simple text hyperlink. I've seen it done before (but I can't remember where, clearly, or I wouldn't be bothering you) so I know it can be done in one way or another. I just need to know if the ALT tag can be used on anything other than images.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
Sarah

In IE it works with title:

<a title=&quot;YourAltText&quot; href=&quot;.............>

and here is a javascript solution

(click on the link &quot;popups&quot; , it's the one in the first column, first row)

Hope this helps,
Erik

Indeed it did help. Thankyou very much. I've gone for the 'title' tag since I'm working on an intranet and know everyone's using I.E. Cheers Erik :)
