New ACT! 2007 user: I have been entering people with information under the contact list (First Last) and for the most part, the list is in alphabetical order, but not completely. So I end up with a last name beginning with "c" between last names beginning with "m" and "p". I don't understand why it's not automatically alphabetized, nor do I see how to force the list to appear alphabetically by last name. Thanks for any help!

Open the record that is out of order. Click on the box just to the right of the Contact Name field. Make sure the name has been parsed correctly

Mike,
Thank you. I do that, and it shows the first name, blank field typically for middle, and the last name. This is a huge problem, because near as I can tell, ACT! is creating multiple alphabetized lists of contacts (entered correctly) in a single database. I am the only one entering the information, and I'm doing it consistently. The previous program I used gave an option to alphabetize, but I don't see any way to correct these mistakes in ACT!

Did you check one of the records that was not in order?

ACT! will automatically sort in the correct order unless either:
a) the database index has become corrupt
b) the first name and/or lat name fileds have not been parsed correctly
