Alpha tagging

Hi all, i have a Mitel 3300 with version 7.0 software.

Does anyone know if you can have alpha tagging showing a name on incoming calls onto a 5550 operator console.

I have alpha tagging enabled on the system and works ok on 5212, 5224, 5330 and 5340.

Just can't get it to work on the console, i have checked c.o.s and can't see anything in there..??

I would open a ticket with T/S. Sounds like a big. What release is the console software?

The software release for the console is 3.0.4.2, I'll have to report it next week?

Did you go through the upgrade procedure steps found on pages 8 and 9 of the release notes for 3.0.4.2?

Assuming that you did, then a call to Product Support would seem to be in order.

I have reported this to Mitel, all they are saying is it should work..??

I have changed the c.o.s on the console to a c.o.s that one of the phones uses that works ok, i have also un-installed and re-installed the console software - this makes no difference (still no name)

what makes it strange is that mitel says ir works, and i have 3 customer sites and also one in our office that i can't get it to work.

Is it just a case of programming the number and name in directory assignment - make sure it works on a display phone, then it should work on the console?

Is there any thing that needs to be programmed within the console itself?

Please help - I'm starting to think that this will never work?

MMMM, as much as I hate to say it, some times you have to fight for what's right.

Ask the Mitel guy that gave you that information, to send you a copy of the COS where he has it working. Each of the guys has a 3300 lab in their cubicals, so they can easily program it up. If he gets it working, tell him to send you the COS settings that he used to make it work.

If you have three sites, and it doesn't work, it most likely is going to be a bug.

If you can want, I can test it later next week...

I take it you either work in the labs your self or have been there.

I was there a couple of months ago - they have a very good setup, for me it was like going into a sweet shop..!!

I will get back in touch with tech support again next week.

Hi Guys,

I set this thred up back in August and I'm still trying to get a fix.... Don't seem to be getting any further with Mitel still looking into... they say it should work as it works on their system.

I later found out that their setup was completely different as they have their 3300 linked via DPNSS, I have also found that when you have calls coming in through an auto-attendant and they select 0 for the operator console - Alpha tagging works, also if you do a blind transfer from a handset i.e. a 5224 again alpha tagging works.

If you then direct a ddi to the console it doesn't work.

Just woundering if any one has come across this yet.

I have tried on most versions of software 6.0, 7.0 and 7.1 and still the same.
