Hi

I worked in flash 5 for years and it was easy to alpha a jpg image, Now i use flash mx but i cant seem to find out how, when i try to alpha a jpg image it just turns black.
Anyone know why?

Not sure you mean code, when i worked in flash 5 you can simply go to alpha and alpha a jpg image.
It dont work like that in mx?

MX was a long time ago...

Think you need to nest the picture in a movie clip, or convert it to a graphic symbol, and then, after selecting it on stage, in the Properties Panel, select alpha in the Color box...

That's where you can change the alpha of either the movie clip holding the picture or the converted Graphic...
