I've asked a question similar to this a while back with a slightly different twist- I am gonna give it one more shot in hopes that someone knows something before I end up having to reload an Aloha file server in a hail mary move.
The bottom line: Customer uses Optinet to process their GC cards at several locations, which has been working just fine. After what appear to be some virus issues, one particular fileserver -though working fine otherwise- would say in EDC "Alohanet: Trying to connect..." as opposed to it's normal
"Alohanet: Connected"
When I do try to run a gift card, I get PIM NOT CONNECTED message.
I have tried so many things, it would almost be easier for to start with what I didn't do.
-I know the Optinet config is fine. Putting this their info in another stores fileserver, it works fine. Also, putting a working stores info into the problematic computer, it then doesn't work.
-I have disabled and uninstalled all virus scanners.
-Ports on router are open (even though they don't appear to have to be open... they aren't on other sites where it's working)
-I've tried reinstalling I.E.6 per someone's suggestion here previously. Same result.
-Re-installed Aloha.
My second question would be is there anyway to get Optinet to work over dialup in Aloha? Weird thing is, Optinet has dialup parameters that actually work fine when you test them, but ALoha will only try to do it over IP.
Last bit of info- Optinet has a TEST communication feature that works just fine when it tries to communicate with the host. This, along with the other info I've listed, leads me to believe it's either ALoha or some configuration parameter on the server maybe- but Optinet seems fine.
Sorry for the long post, thanks for reading.
