I have a question about the licensing. First,i will start by saying I don't really have a dealer. Second, I am not compliant. I am working on upgrading to 6.x but currently run 5.3.29. My question is, can I upgrade to the highest version of 5.3 for free?
Also, does going from 5.3.29 to the highest version of 5.3 require any kind of license keys or a new hardware key, or is all I need is the new software?

Thanks for the help

It all depends on your license agreement.

Your license agreement and the license information you have will determine the highest version you can get for free before you need to pay for a new license.

Joe, just wondering why you would want the latest version of 5.3? You could go to the latest 5.3 for free because you are already running 5.3. You would just need a Bin folder upgrade. This will do nothing for compliancy, though.

I plan on getting the newest version of tableservice in the near future, but until I do, I just want to run the highest version I can/paid.

I'm assuming my "dealer" would be the one to talk to about the bin files?

I don't think there is much higher than you have. Most 5.3 stores I deal with are 5.3.21. Just hang on for the your upgrade.
