Hi Aloha Gurus,

I'm running Aloha 6.0.9. I have an epson u220b kitchen printer and it's acting very strange. For each kitchen chit, it prints the majority of the information ok, but one or two items it will suddenly move the whole word over to the left and cut off the first few letters. For instance:

Chicken Salad
buffalo sauce
Onions
Bleu Cheese
Fish & Chips
NO tartar
ngs
Cajun
Bleu Cheese

The third item above is supposed to be 10 wings, but it just moves the word to the left and cut off the "10 wi". It's not just one item and it's not all the time.

I have deleted the *.cdx and *.tdx files and upgraded the database. I think it's software driven, but I can't figure it out. Could this possibly be a symptom of the printer going bad? I've turned off the printer and performed self tests and EVERYTHING during the test prints just fine, everytime.

Really need help. This is aggravating the staff and kitchen.

Thank you!

Charles

I should also add that in the POS manager it's set up as a U200 and this only recently started after 7 months of working fine.

Thanks

try using a different com port to host the printer. You can also change out the connectors. If all else fails the printer or serial card in the back of the printer. Also check dip switch settings bank 1 3,5,6 should be on and bank 2, we use 2 and 4 on.

It dawned on me that the terminal where the printer is hooked up had recently been changed. I hooked it up to a different terminal and made the corrections in the Aloha manager and it "seems" to be operating ok now. I am still tentative cause I'm a pessimist but if it acts up, I'll take a look at the serial card and the dipswitch settings or the connectors. Thanks for the ideas. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
