Aloha terminal not recoqnizing BOH as FILESERVER 2

Monday morning the BOH computer (SERVER) restarted on its own, next thing, the two front terminals failed to recoqnize the BOH computer as its server. I've tried unplugging EVERYTHING, plugging one terminal back in, turning on the hub, and turning on the BOH computer. .. Nothing.

I've tried deleteing the Downtime.ini file from the terminals.

There is def. a connection between the BOH and FOH as i can still access FOH through Aloha Manager, and VZW viewer. So i dont believe there is a problem with any of the cables.

The termninal would attempt to find the FILESERVER only to give the message "aloha takeout server unavailable at this time" and attempts to connect to a new file server, failing everytime. I had no choice but to put the terminals on Reduntecy mode.

and now the video kitchen screen are blue; the port numbers and ip & subnet adds. are correct, so i'm thinking those are connected.

any help would be appeciated

Check the server's computer name and make sure it has a static IP. I know some have Aloha working with a server that is on obtain, but I have seen connection issues because of that.
That debout doesn't help.
Since you are in redundancy, turn every terminal off except the current FOH Fileserver, delete everything in the TMP folder on the terminal then reboot it and check the debouts again. Then try a file server recovery.
You may to to check from a terminal if you have the ability to edit and save on the server. If not there is a permissions issue.
The system is easier to get going and troubleshoot if you are only working with one terminal. Once you have one terminal up and master, all you will have to do is turn the others on.

i would delete the stop file from the tmp folder, if you have not done what DTSMAN told you to do. Terminals will not load if there is a stop file present in the TMP folder

i removed the STOP file and its communicating with the BOH Fileserver again. The QSR RDS Video Screens are still blue (with the port number and ip information numbers) i still cant figure out why that is.

Can someone please tell me what put that STOP file in the folder. Is there any reason why it would be created on its own, or does someone HAVE to put in.

Front of house was in a stopped state when you performed your file server recovery (ie: someone pulled down utilities and clicked stop front of house in Aloha Mgr.)

is your qsr the older version and is controlled from the terminal? or do you have the newer version which is ran from the alohaboh?

It's the newer version, rdsconsole is installed on the boh, it recoqnizes the qsr boxs, says their up and running, ip addresses seem to be correct and no conflicting port numbers
