Let me start by saying I'm pretty new to working on POS Systems especially Aloha. This is an older 5.3 version also.

The system has 7 terminals and only 2 of them are not printing the bar chit at the bar printer (it appears to be going nowhere).

From what I could see in the manual it appears that this is a universal setting to the whole system, so I'm a little confused as to why only 2 are not printing correctly.

It may have started to occur after a printer changeout at the bar station if that helps. Thanks.

Look in your events and see if the printer is being rerouted by terminal to a ghost printer.

Yes there was a daily event set to reroute to ghost. Thanks.

Now I have two questions.

Where are the main settings that are set to route the bar chit?

The situation I have is I would like to route only some of the beverages input at the a couple terminals (beer, wine, liquor) to the bar printer but not others (sodas, etc.) since some terminals have a server accessible soda station and won't need the bar to make these drinks. Is there a way to route just select beverages on select terminals to the bar.

Bzpilot,
Create a new printer group:
Maintenance > Hardware > Printer Groups
Use the dropdown and determine an unused number.
Type that number in the Group Id field and hit Enter.
Name = Special Bar
Printers = Bar Print (or whatever it is named)

Go into item maintenance and assign this new printer group to all of those items that sometimes print to bar and sometimes not.

Set the events to tell the system which terminals do not need to print these items to the bar:
Maintenance > system > events
Select Add Event
In the box that pops up, use the dropdown to select Reroute Print by terminal.
Leave the time at 0:00
OK
In the next box that pops up, use the dropdown to find the terminal that does not require this printing to the bar.
From Print Group = Special Bar
To Print Group = No Print

Repeat for each terminal that does not need to print soda, etc to the bar.
Refresh
