Hey guys,
I have never worked with an Aloha running the SQL database setup. I can not find documentation on the documentation CD. Is there one?
I have an interview with a large chain that I am sure is using this and would like to have some clue before walking in. I'm sure it can't be to difficult, but I would like to at least have my terminology straight and a general understanding of what makes it different from the usual flat file structure.

I don't recall any formal manual just for SQL mode although it is possible.
SQL mode is pretty much the same as the system still runs from the DBF files and the SQL database is more for reporting.
Having run tech at the first Aloha dealer to go to SQL way back when, I have tried to put it out of my mind as it was a nighmare in early v4.2.
I would guess there are KB docs covering the SQL methods and topics...
Let me know if I can help as I have done a few hundred conversions both to SQL then back not much later.

Thanks,
I have the AKBs which are setups and what nots, but I didn't see any documents with specifics. I'm not too worried about it I just was hoping to be able to show some knowledge and understanding. The interview went well anyway, their interests where more in other areas.

Don't forget, SQL 2005 is officially still not supported by Radiant. We run it on 2005, 2008 and SQL Express, but it's at your own risk.

Furthermore, I can tell you that 6.7 doesn't support RDB anymore and a new RDB model will be introduced in 6.8 or 6.9
