Aloha "There are no periods defined!"

To add more detail about the situation,
I've initially installed the TS BOH and FOH with sample data.
Then I felt there are so much unnecessary entries that my business would never need, so I decided to start from scratch.
I know for fact that the networking works fine, because I initially had "there is no category" error on FOH. Then I entered few categories in BOH and the FOH no longer displayed the error. However, now I get "There are no periods defined!" error and I have no idea where to start.
Is there any tutorial for people building Aloha from scratch?
