Hello everyone,

Last night with had an issue with our server, so we had to run one of the terminals as the server.
Now, when I try to run "Fileserver Recovery," the terminals will not start. They get stuck at "System Parameters (0%)" and then they keep rebooting themselves.

I emptied the "tmp" folder, I made sure the file "ok" was in the data folder, and also that aloha.ini is there.
Nothing worked.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Best,

Juan

Hay Juan

did you pull the dated folder over from floor term
did you set correct date in aloha maanger and refresh
lastly you can delete all the downtime.ini files on FOH machines in bootdrv\aloha folder

Hi Ross,

Than you for always replying posts.
Yes, I did move the dated folder.
I did not delete the downtime.ini files, though. After running "Fileserver Recovery" and running into the problem, the only way I could make the terminal start (in standalone) was by changing the the line LASTSERVER from ALOHABOH to TERM1 in the "downtime.ini" file.

What's the right order to do things? And should I wait until the end of the day to do it?
1 - Delete downtime.ini
2 - Fileserver Recovery
3 - Refresh data
?

Thank you again!

Juan

you should be able to do file-server recovery anytime. In the past if it is stuck like it is, I usually wait til after hours. Copy trans.log from foh to boh. then stop Iber on all FOH. Delete downtime.ini on all machines. restart ctlsvr service on boh. then start only 1 foh term, If it starts normal then go ahead and do the rest. if it does not then you have other issues that need to be addressed.

Cool! I will try that tonight after hours.
I have done File Recovery in the middle of the day just fine. Yesterday when I was running into this issue, I decided to wait until the End of day was processed. I tried this morning again and the same issue was happening.

I will keep you posted.

Thank you, Ross!
Have a good Sunday

Ross, your recommendations worked. Thank you!
Now I have a much bigger problem, though.

The computers start of, buy my menus are gone!!!!! I one have the dinner menu left, and I am not even sure if it's accurate.

Do you know what files store the menus, so I recover them from a backup?

Thank you so much,

Juan

to recover old menus, sub menus or anything else they are always in yesterdays dated folders. close AM,
for items, it itm.dbf
submenu its sub.dbf
modifiers, mod.dbf

copy into newdata and then restart AM

This will only work on old aloha manager and not new
