We are a restaurant with a hotel running Aloha 15.1. When we set up Aloha, we had all of our guest checks print with a check total and then a trialing room number, guest name, and signature line. Servers will often rip off the bottom of the guest check before dropping the bill so there is no confusion. However, there are times when they forget, so some guests will write in a tip and sign the bottom, thinking they already left their card, and then leave.

I have tried to call Aloha for a solution where we can press a "Hotel guest check" button where it will print the guest name and room number lines when needed. However, I am being told this is an all or nothing kind of thing. Either we have a room number and guest name line, or we have nothing at all.

Is there a way around this? I need to be able to print two different checks: one with the room and guest number and the other without this info.

How do you know before you bring the check if the guest is a hotel guest or not?

There is not a way in Aloha to choose different check messages on request. They either have the message or they do not. You could add additional line or ask guest to put name and room number and tip on back of check for them to sign. Or in ALL CAPS "NOT FOR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT"

Thanks. Not the answer I was hoping for, but it'll have to do.
