Aloha printer port options??

I have an old ieee 1284 serial thermal printer and was wondering if there is any way to buy a ieee 1284/usb converter and have my printer conected to my pos via usb???? This would avoid me needing to buy a $80 pringter just because of the connection type??? Any ideas???

I guess it would depend on what POS you are using and if they even support your printer in general.
