Having a problem with a printer running on an Aloha system. I have tried swapping similar printers and still have a problem so its not the printer itself. The debout for the terminal the printer is connected to says that "Printer 3 on COM1, FIFO Buffer checkbox is checked. Warning! Could cause
printing problems if XON/XOFF is used."
After reading some posts on here I realize I need to turn the FIFO off. I do not know how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. The terminal thats connected to the printer is running Windows XP. Thanks for any help you can give.

To turn FIFO buffers off in Win XP:

From each terminal go to:
[Control Panel][System][Hardware][Device Manager]
Expand (+) "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Double Click on each "Communications Port"
[Port Settings][Advanced]
Uncheck "Use FIFO Buffers"
Click on "Save"

Do this on each COM port that drives a printer or you can disable FIFO on all COm ports to be safe.

You will need to restart the terminal as this setting is read in a system file at startup.
