HI,

I'm hoping one of you experts can help me out.

We're running Aloha POS v6.2.15 and when a server runs their Checkout, there's an area on the tape that displays:
Liquor Sales...$xx.xx
Bar Tip Out...$xx.xx
Busser Tip Out...$x.xx
Runner Tip Out...$x.xx
My question is…do you have any idea where this is coming from in Aloha Manager? (Note that it only says "Liquor Sales").

What I'm trying to accomplish is to set this up so that when my servers run their Checkout, that area of the tape will display the appropriate tips for all sales (Food and Liquor).

The current configuration is setup for Liquor only and I have no idea where it’s coming from.

I went into Maintenance>Labor>Job Codes>000001 Server>Financial tab and “Pays Tipshare” is NOT currently checked. So this is where I’m confused on where the tipout on Liquor sales is even coming from. Also…I verified that there is no event currently setup to “Set Tipshare”.

Is “Tip Share” and “Tip Out” the same thing?
I read the manual several times and it just seems confusing.

Any help on getting this setup properly is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks,

Joe

I believe you may have the custom checkout option checked in Back office maintenance. It is somewhere under store settings or something like that. The dealer probably built your data base with it in there and didn't undo it. It is just a check mark for custom checkout. One of the Aloha gurus here can give you a the specific tab.
The standard c/o will show all the categories, but then you will lose the tip out information by using the standard. If you are using a custom checkout and want to keep it, then hopefully someone else can help you better.

Joe-

If you go under Maintenance, Menu, then Categories- you will see a list of all your sales and non sales categories (liquor, food, etc).

In that section, you will see a check box that says "Exclude from Tipshare calculations". If that item is checked for Food, that would likely explain why you are not seeing a tip out for Food Sales (if I am understanding you correctly).

Also, the default tipshare percentage is set under the poorly organized subset of information in Aloha located in Store Settings, Labor, Employee Settings. You can set a percentage that applies to all the categories, but I am not sure Aloha will allow for individual percentages for certain categories. Some customers ask for this, and there are other systems out there that will allow it.

Hope that helped.

Awesome! This helped me a lot!

Thanks a million to both of you!
