Gentlemen,
I help out a friend who owns a restuarant using the Aloha Tableservice system. He's had a lot of misfortune with his POS and recently lost a hard drive on one of the POS terms. I'm cloning the contents of another working POS terminal onto a new drive for the dead unit. Can someone tell me if there is an entry in an .ini file that I can edit to change the repaired terminal back to it's correct id? Seems like they are all loaded the same and just report to the BOH server using their ids.
Or am I completely off base and going about this the wrong way? Please drop me a note and let me know your thoughts, there is precious little documentation around for this system.
You will have the eternal gratitude of an Aloha newbie...

Rob

Whoops, forgot some vital info. The terminals are IBM SurePos 500's (4840-532) running Win98SE, I think the version of Aloha is 5.xxx and the terms report to a Win2K BOH server.
Thanks again!
Rob

In network neighbor hood, change the name of the terminal to the appropriate number. (Term1, Term2, etc).

In the autoexec or ibercfg executable, set the SET TERM= to the same (1, 2, 3, etc).

Aside from standard Windows networking procedure, that's pretty much it.

Thank you AkamaiAloha. The above procedure along with a change to the hard coded IP address worked great.
Now I have 2 more terminals to fix, Apparently there is a batch of bad Maxtor 20GB drives in some of the Surepos500 terminals as we have lost 3 of 4 and I'm going to image the last one before it dies!!.
