The owner of the restaurant would now like to charge his staff a 3% fee on there credit card tips and have it get adjusted on there check out.
Example

They have $100 in charged tips, Aloha puts $3.00 back into cash owed and they keep $97.00 In Micros it is possible but I have looked in almost every setting in aloha and can not find it.

Anyone have any idea where this setting may be hiding?

New Aloha Manager --> Maintenance --> Payments --> Tenders.
Go to each credit card.
Down at the bottom of the page, there is a section on tips.
The thing you are looking for is called the Tip Refund %.

Save and refresh.

Thank you. Still using old Aloha manager, but understood where setting was located

Be careful. Different States have different rules/laws re: this practice BUT one thing is for sure in every State that allows it; the operator can not take a higher % than what the processor is charging so IMHO if you are going to do it, choose a rate that won't be an issue IE: 2% for Visa, M/C and 3% for Amex. I suggest that because it's very hard to actually determine what an average % is on your credit card statements, but a blanket 3% may only lead to "avoidable" issues down the road.
