For what the Payment Reconcilation button is used in aloha? For end of day reports? or for checkouts?

Payment reconcilition is used for cashiers to reconcile their drawer or wallet. When using a piece of paper telling you how much cash you should have in your drawer, fraud is an easy thing. Cashiers magically seem to have either a short, or it is spot on....

When using payment reconciliation, the cashier tells the till how much cash (or other payment types like vouchers) he or she has in the drawer, and the till either accepts the count (when within margin) or declines it. When accepted, the cashier can not 'skim' the drawer anymore.

We use it quite often, and refer to it as a 'Blind drop'

Wao. So this can be used like an Daily Sales Reports? Im in need of a solution because we do this in a excel form that manager put the actual cash and use the sales sumary reports for an Z reading. When end of day is perform the payment rencocilation adjust the data?

You can use this in a daily sales summary report. Make cashiers do a deposit right away, and you will have this next to your calculated cash and petty cash transactions. Over\shorts are calculated and shown.

The reconciliation is an app that can run on any termial that has a cash drawer or from BOH. When an amployee that is assigned to a cash drawer runs a checkout this applet starts. It forces them to enter the number of each type of tender, (65 pennies, 7 nickels, 42 dimes, etc.). This total is added up internally and if it is within a predefined threshhold the checkout will run including the cash over or short. The threshhold is usually set to within $5 or so. If the total entered is outside of the treshhold the system will prompt them to re-enter all of the cash amounts. If it is still off a manager's intervension will be required to get the checkout to print...

The over/short totals can be included in the daily sales report but this does not take the place of a sales report.
