Hi Guys, i am really in trouble here...

I locked myself out of an NCR WIndows7 Aloha terminal...

would you know the default(windows7) administrator password ?

the users are administrator, edcsvr, sdcradmin, tkpos1, tkpos2

i have to get the end customer up and running by the morning but windows is prompting me for a password I do not have...

tany help much appreciated!

Here are some other options for cracking

from other terminal on network
go to manage computer
choose manage other computer
find the user name and choose change password. As long as the name you are logged in as on first term matches an administarator on second term this will work as well.

boot to safemode with command prompt

if it does not ask for user ID and password here you are going to be fine
type net user tkpos2 newpassword and enter this will change the password for tkpos2
or
this will add new user and put them in administrators group.
net user newuser newpassword /add
then net local group administrators newuser /add

or

reboot

now log in with tkpos2 and the new password you just gave it.

FYI the newer RAL likes to lock out all other users but the one for that terminal from logging in. You will have to go through gpedit.msc to find and disable this so you can log in with

thanks man! unfortunately I am able to do all but manage users on the machine when I follow your steps. :(

I followed your advice and ran the management console as a different user and then the above method worked!!!

THANK YOU ROSS!
