Aloha: modifier screenflow question

Aloha has an "exempt bartenders from modifier screenflow" function, which in my bar would be very useful except for the fact that when it's activated, the cocktail waitresses are also exempted. Obviously the bartenders don't need the screenflow as much as the cocktail waitresses, because a bartender doesn't need to specify, for example "and coke" for a Crown and Coke. The waitresses on the other hand do so the bartenders knows what to make. Any ideas on why it's doing this?

By the way, it worked before I had my dealer enable some function (that I can't find) where waitresses are able to actually name a tab instead of only being able to assign a Table Number. Beforehand only the bartenders were exempted, since He activated this function, everyone is exempted. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Tyler

Tyler,

My guess would be that your Cocktail Waitresses job code (defined in jobe code maintenance) has the Bartender option checked. I believe this is what Aloha uses to determine if the employee is exempt from the screen flow, among other things.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Hey thanks for your reply.

The "Server" jobcode does not have the "bartender" item checked. Like I said, when we first opened a year ago only the bartenders were exempt from screenflow until the dealer enabled some function where waitresses could actually a type a name of a table instead of only a table number. I knwo for sure it's not "bartender" because servers name a tab before they put in the first order of drinks. In "bartender" mode it's the opposite.

Yeah, I could be wrong, it was the first thing that came to mind. I just went through our Aloha, and that Bartender checkbox in job code maintenance is the only item that I can figure would tell Aloha that this employee is a bartender and, thus, should be exempt from modifier screen flow.

Sorry I could not be of more support...

Hmm not 100% sure. I bought the system in November of last year, and I'm pretty sure it's the latest of whatever was available at that time.

On the first jobcode screen check, shift required, and order entry. On Tablservice, only check the box that says "sees tabs" When your cocktailers clock in they will be able to see their tabs, and each new oder must use the "new tab" buttom to name them once again.

Bartenders and cocktailers will then get the same modifier flow.
