ver 5.3.15, when a manager approaches any terminal that is at the bouncing logo, and swipes their card, the screen will go white with ususally one button displayed, after maybe 30 seconds or so the screen will come all the way up. in the audit log it shows that terminal was down at that time. but I don't think that is true as the terminal was at a bouncing logo not looking for fileserver. Win2K on BOH, 98SE on the terminals which are Posi-flex. doesn't happen every time, but very often, and sometimes within minutes of another manager swiping. Thought maybe we were waiting for bitmaps to load, but dont know for sure. don't notice it when servers log in just using touchscreen.

thanks, rich

Aloha has two graphic modes: Enhanced and non-enhanced. On older terminals, you should only use non-enhanced. To "Disable FOH Graphics", go to Maintenance -> Store Settings -> User Interface. On the first tab there should be a check box that says "Disable FOH Graphics". That should do the trick. The reason why the terminal takes so long the first time is because it's loading up the graphics, but after that they are already loaded so it's normal speed. Hope that helps
