Two independent restauratuers have negotiated a secondary, private sale of an Aloha POS system. The gentleman purchasing the system is a customer of mine, and I have been encouraging him to legally transfer the title. Most owners understandably have a problem with this--they feel they have already legally purchased it, and don't Radiant is owed anything. As much as I agree with this in spirit, I believe in keeping things above board.

Who needs to be contacted to legally transfer software? Can it be done through Radiant directly, or does the local dealer have to do it? Any info on how they structure the price would be helpful also! (is it a flat fee, based on terms, etc).

Thanks!

I don't know those answers,as they have changed since the last time we have done that, but don't worry about pushing the issue. I know of a handful of places that have changed hands and the keys are not re-licnesed.
I think the actual legality comes into play if a dealer is reselling the key.(Could be wrong, but that's the logic I roll with). And yea, I know what the license agreement says, but I'm not the Radiant police?
