I'm looking for some help reading the daily grind files.

I'm reading the GNDSLSUM.DBF file, and I'm running into a few issues.

1. The document I have says that the KeyVolume has 3 values (1, 2, and 3). However, my clients KeyVolume values include 4's and 5's. What are 4's and 5's?

2. What are the 1's, 2's, and 3 values?

3. When we total up the "1" values from this file, our values are within $2 - $20 of the gross sales for the day (compared to a sales report from Aloha). Where would this difference come from?

4. We want to gather comps, voids, and more specific sales information ... where can we do this?

Is there any reasonable guides for getting this sales information, other than reading through the Aloha Grind document.

Thanks!

q1 and q2 = 1 is Sales, 2 is Customers, 3 is Items, 4 is Checks. Sorry but my grind document only has up to 4.

q3 = I would look for delivery dollars if applicable This would especially be the case if the number is always a multiple of 2.

q4. I would gather the info you want from the gndsale.dbf.
comps are type 5
promos are type 6
net sales are type 52's.

Another thing to mention to you would be Aloha Insight. This type of data gathering is why that product was created.

Hope that helps.
