I'm looking for a way to have a price change for the entire system in our restaurant. More exactly, I'm looking for a way to drop all Beverage items 25% and all food items 10%. I'm sure there's a way. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running Aloha Tableservice 6.1.15.

Beyond a utility either in Aloha or from a 3rd party developer that would allow price changes based upon a range of menu items or sales groups for IE, I would think you'll need to set up multi-level menu item prices such as used with happy hours and then activate and de-activate as needed. I have worked with POS systems that have utilities just for this and it was a breeze to raise prices for drinks only for say .50 just during live entertainment and back to normal after.

The multi-level pricing approach requires some time investment up front but once set up it should work fine to accomplish what you want.

If you are wanting to actually lower the prices without discounts use price levels for item pricing and price changes to alter to the "temporary" price. Fire the price change in events.

If you want to discount the prices use Promos. The Promo type "Coupon" allows you to have a percentage discount for an entire category.

Create at category call All Food and put all your 10% discounts in that category. Create a category call All Beverages and put all your 25% discounts in that category. Create two promotions call Food Discount and Beverage Discounts attach the respective category to each promotion set the promotion to auto apply. As POSRESCUE noted use a "Coupon" promotion type to apply the percentages. If you want to only apply the discounts for certain time use and event to turn the promotion on and off.

I think he is trying to change all the item level pricing permantently.

Is that what you are asking lifesabuzz??[PIPE]

Thanks guys. I ended up using a coupon for this (actually 2) one for all food categories to ring in as 10% off and all drink categories as 25% off. It was a quick temporary thing as our a/c went down on a Thursday and I wanted to give a little extra incentive for those who were thinking of dining with us.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
