Does Aloha have a back office Gift Card manager? Our dealer has been pushing eCard on us, but the number of gift cards we sell wouldn't justify the cost of the eCard service. Our restaurant recently switched from Future POS to Aloha, and the only thing that's better about Future is that it has a good back office GC manager. with Future, whenever you hit the "Sell GC", you are prompted to enter the four digit number assigned to and printed on each GC, which is then stored in the computer. Then when its redeemed, the GC tender asks for a four digit GC number, and knows exactly how much the gift certicate is worth. This feature also stores how much is left on the GC if the customer didn't use the whole GC. But for the last 4 months that we've had Aloha, we've had to keep track of GC's manually with a record book, which has been a pain in the neck, especially when customers don't use the whole GC. So my question is can Aloha GC's be set up in a similiar to fashion to Future POS, or do we have to use (and pay for) eCard to avoid the hassle of keeping track of GC with a records book?

Yes ,Aloha has a program called gift certificate manager. It is an add-on to the system. It is not as feature rich as Aloha E-card but it does what you are looking for. They also have a frequent buyer and delivery program. They charge a one time fee and it is loaded onto your server.
