I would like to setup a BOH and FOH that never have administrative users logged in. I have had success on 5.3.31 running BOH with no admin priveledges but have never succeeded getting FOH to run that way.

The back of house that worked for this was Windows 2000 and I have not revisited the problem since upgrading to XP

Any tips or success stories here

I have 5.3.31 and 6.5.22 and the killer is that I also run Aloha Stored Value gift cards

So has no one ever attempted to lock down their BOH and FOH security using logins that don't have administrator access?
Seems like that is something that has to be coming in the future.

I can't remember if this is said not possible. However, when i think about permissions and the logic of what needs to happen inside the software, I know that what you really need is a username that exists on the FOH as well as BOH that have same exact password and permissions to edit files on the system in the aloha folders on each machine specifically. BOH needs access to the trans.log and updating dbfs on the master while the master distributes it to the rest of terms as far as I know. A lot of times, people just set everything to admin, just so they don't have to battle it to get it to work.
