I searched a while on this and didn't find anything. What is the best way to configure Aloha with Epson TM88s attached via USB? FOH running Win 7.

Does Aloha 6.7 (6.4+) support OPOS printing? I used to run printers from a printer serial (rs232) to a serial COM on the FOH. I set some dip switches on the Epson and use the tm80 printer setting in Aloha BOH.

But I have a new site with all new hardware and would love to know the up-to-date methods.

To run opos printers with Aloha you will need to install the epson opos software on each terminal that a printer is usb connected to.

Cheers,

Thanks Coorsman, as always.

What I found through reading the documentation and experimenting is the following:

During the epson install only select what you know you'll need (custom install) when in doubt, don't install it, you can always add it later through the upgrade install process.

After the installation I had to go to c:\program files\opos\epson2\ and run startPOS.exe.

Only after that could I run viewPOS.exe and see the printer configuration.

The OPOS name for the TM88v I have is "TM-88VU" this was needed in the Aloha POS printer screen.

All this could be because I installed both the standard drivers (which made it print fine in windows) and the OPOS drivers. Perhaps if I only installed the OPOS the extra steps wouldn't be needed.

NOTE: I did not use the OPOS .net drivers, those are only for the Microsoft POS software.
