Hello. Can anyone give me information on how to make a register reboot during the end of day process rather than having it logoff? All of the other 5 registers reboot during the process and reload windows and then aloha which is great but one of the registers just logs off and then the manager on duty has to enter the terminal password in order to get it back up again. It's not a major problem I know, but one that I would like to get resolved if possible. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Look in the ibercfg on the terminals. rebootnt=true

If you are running ral on the server, then you are going to have to check reboot NT and reload it on the terminal. Or you can go in the environment variables and edit rebootnt= true
If they did a normal terminal install then you can edit it from the iberconfig just like DTSMAN suggested. Ibercfg can be found on the C drive for 98 terminals and in the aloha directory with windows 2000 and up.

This doesn't make sense.. an autologin during a reboot works, but not after firiing a logoff?

It's the same settings in windows.

I'm all for all foh terminals doing a reboot during eod, but any other time (refreshes or eod's run after normal scheduled time) should be a logoff. -Yes this is possible.

I have seen this happen with RAL v 2.2.26. Even after i added the fore autologin in the the registry in windows, the terminal still prompted for a password when logging off and on. Had to set it to reboot nt. I also seen this happen in some version of 6.4X. what verion of aloha are you running at the moment?

6.5.10 and 6.5.15:
It is not a RAL issue nor Aloha version issue. It is an issue with the terminal.

You may need to remove the alt registry keys for autologin. They are in the same section of the registry. Or there is something installed on the terminal interrupting the autologin settings or functions.

In the Run text box, type control userpasswords2 and click OK:

you will see the aloha, ss well as administrator and maybe other login's.

Put a check in the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" if not checked.

click on alhoa

un-check in the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"

click apply

it will now ask for the password for the aloha account usually hello - and will auto logon this account every time.

I think it is a ral issue. The terminals we tested came straight from radiant. If you use ral 2.2.26 and set it to logoff, the terminal always came up asking for a password. Once we removed ral and did a normal terminal install and set rebootnt=false the terminal logged off and on with no problems. This was done on a 1510,1520,and 1220 terminals. Im not sure what is going on with mgwb since he has not given us any more details but this happened to me at a site called mas mexicalis.

Sorry for not posting back any info yet. I have just now been able to check back on this issue. I appreciate all of your help. I had already changed the rebootNT option to TRUE before I posted my question. I had asked the manager of that store if that had fixed the problem the next day but I was told it had not, but after checking with him again today he says that it did fix the problem. Thanks again.
