Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if there's any way to enter our daily special from the FOH which constantly changes (uniquely) every day.

Everyday, the cook decides what he would like to cook for a special and tells the waitresses.

Most of the time his specials are not included in our menu, and I am not always by the BOH, so the waitresses need to be able to enter the item through FOH daily.

I've been looking through this forum & manual and yet I cannot seem to find a solution.

One idea I thought of was having a submenu with 3 items: special 1, special 2, and special 3 and change the prices of them, but I don't know how one would change a price of an item through FOH.

Thank you everyone.

You could set up an open item with an open price and an open description. This would force your waitresses to enter the description of the special and also the price when a "Special" button is pressed. Just my 2 cents.

Some POS allow changes from the FOH. Aloha Does Not.

The problem with specials if you are using the same item every day and changing it price and modifiers, then your Product Mix report is of limited value to identify what you sold of what special.

A better approach is to create a unique item for each special. At some point you will start repeating them! With that in place, changing a link to the special in the Submenu button is a quick and easy task each morning to do.
