hello

We are using Aloha and EDC at 6.5.. version

Right now we are processing credit card through Dial-Up to CES/firstdata, and we want to switch the dial-up to tcp/ip

I have the TID, DID, Service name(north.fdc), but EDC wont let me input the information( it is greyed out on the first data ipn section)

how can I set it up? thanks.
another question, since the BOH is behind a firewall, do I need to open some port(s)?

Thanks a lot

Also, I edited edc.ini for IPNEnabled=1. No luck as well
Thanks

Without looking at EDC and just off the top of my head you need to stop EDC processing prior to making any changes. Your field should become active after stopping the processing. If this is not the case then i will take a little extra time to investigate your situation further.

Stop POS processing, Configure, Gateways, highlight First Data/IPN press OK, press Done. Configure processers, go into CES, DID section will be available.

Does anyone know how to put the spooling alert on the actual EDC User Interface warning them. I have seen this before, but long ago. Reason being, i have customers who dont know they have offline transactions until weeks later sometimes.

Thanks for all the replies, I figured it out

the right way is
1, back up edc.ini and then edit it

make sure it is looks like this:
...
[DATAWIRE]
UseIPN=TRUE
PrimaryIPAddress=vxn.datawire.net
PrimaryPortNumber=19000
SecondaryIPAddress=vxn1.datawire.net
SecondaryPortNumber=19000
[CES]
Merchant=ur merchant number <------
GiftCardMerchant=01234567890
AlternateMerchant=00000000000
TermId=ur terminal ID <-------
MultiTrans=1
ProcessRejectedTxn=0
CurrentlyOffline=0
AutoOfflineMode=0
MaxAmountOfflineActivation=0.00
MaxAmountOfflineRedemption=0.00
PersistCreditCardConnections=0
PersistGiftCardConnections=0
IPNEnabled=1
DatawireTID=ur terminla ID <------
DID=ur DID <-------------
DatawireServiceName=north.fdc
...

2, exit edc and restart edc.
That's it.

Congrats, but just an FYI for anyone that searches this thread at a later date. That won't work on a new setup, the edc.ini would be blank. It only worked for in this instance because you defined the processor first before editing the .ini file directly. If my directions were followed using the GUI the same results would be achieved.

gunstar01, your method wont work since I tried already. the gateway and options is grayed out if the EDC never been set up for use IPN before.

The options were greyed out because the gateway wasn't activated before or after you set up the processor. Whenever I set up an account on CES I activate the gateway first so that when I go in to processor setup, the DID section is available.

My instructions were correct, you were just too inexperienced to follow them correctly to achieve the result you needed. I would never suggest an inexperienced user to directly edit any .INI file in Aloha. Incorrect entries could shut down the system.

Stop POS processing,
Configure,
Gateways,<this step can not go, cause gateways was grayed out>>>

highlight First Data/IPN press OK, press Done. Configure processers, go into CES, DID section will be available.
