Running into numerous problems the past few days with my EDC acting up...
Time to time I get a "failure to initialize" when a employee tries to run a credit card, and usually I chalk it up to a overload on my network and just have the card swiped again, and usually works.
But not it will just constantly put out a "failure to initialize" or will hang for minutes or possibly freeze the terminal which usually dominoes into the other 3 and brings the terms down. I stopped pos processing for the time being to get through the weekend and now am tackling it.
I open up the EDC and Start pos processing again and after a couple minutes it gathers all the txn from the terminals, I go ahead and have it settle the batch, and nothing happens. Almost as if the program didn't recognize the command I gave it (Functions>Settle Batch) and if I tell it to settle the batch again I'll get the
Sending auth., Waiting for response on the Paymentech(SSL) line... (where it usually says idle)
but after a minute (300+txns.) I'll get a Failed Reason: Must wait 300 Seconds to settle again... and that notification window will pop up twice.
Check all my cables: all are good.
Called my ISP: they tell me all is good on their end.
Ran the ping google.com -t with TIME in the 80-84 Range and TIL @ 50
Did a sweep on all the terms and BOH for virus and spyware with nothing found
I am at a loss right now and was wondering if I've missed anything or my next step should be?
Contact my processor or give my local pos guys a call?
Aloha EDC v6.2.15
Aloha Manager v6.2.15
BOH is Win XP
Terms are a mis-match of XP, POSReady2009 and WIN2000
Thank you
