We have EDC 5.3.24, and are having problems setting it up to process through tcp/ip. I added CES as a processor and set up all the data based on the var sheets from the processor, and all the standard setup of a processor ie , set up modem, add cards to the processor, etc... The First Data settings are permanently grayed out, so I manually entered the first data info in the CES section of EDC.ini. I know you are supposed to check the "Enable First Data" box, but in the Configure menu both the Options and FirstData IPN menuitems are disabled (and yes I'm talking about while proccessing is off, I have access to everything else). At first I thought it may be a security clearance issue, so I hacked the AlohaProgrammer account(EASY!!!) and tried that, but it was the same as the Aloha managers account. The dialup auth/settle works fine (as fine as dialup auth CAN). Next to CES(IP) on the main window it says "Lost connection with host while waiting on" and then it seems to be cut off. I set up the port forwards in thegateway for UDP and Tcp/ip for the port on the var sheet, and allowed the ports, EDC.EXE and EDCSVR.EXE in windows Firewall. Also I used SysInternals Tcpview while authing a CreditCard, and both the port and the IP from the var sheet do not pop up like they should (and I know tcpview is working because I can see the BOH and FOH "chatting", as well as FireFox and the net...).
Info:
EDC 5.3.24 and Aloha 5.2.
Inet connection is through a 2nd Nic, completely isolated from the terminal network, and uses AT&T U-Verse with a 2Wire Gateway.
I noticed in Aloha.ini theres a var for enabling EDC debugging, is this a good idea or will it mess things up?
Will it work if I somehow get the "Enable Firstdata" EDC.ini settings (if any) or any other settings for IPN that I dont have access to and hack them into edc.ini? (hint hint someone with EDC 5.3.24 and using Datalink IPN please post a copy of EDC.ini-- minus private data, of course)
Do you think those options ('Options' and 'First Data IPN' in Configure) are disabled because of a lock-out-gouge sales strategy from our dealer (which they use ALOT), or maybe just a missing module/dll/exe?
Im working for a small mom and pop outfit, and they could barely afford the license transfer fee for the system that came with the business they bought, let alone the typical Aloha gouge, so having the dealer do it is not an option...
Thanks,
-DC
