I am setting up a server on Windows XP. After running the install I try and run Aloha Manager and it does nothing...at all. I then took a look under services and ctlsvr is not under the services list edcsvr is not there either. This is a test box that i have installed Aloha on before and I have multiple databases that i just rename when I want to load different concepts.

I do not get any errors when I run Aloha Manager nor do I get any errors at all.

Little help here.

Thanks

Brian

You should manually register aloha. Use the register batch file in the root directory.

I would speculate that the reason that no errors are coming up is because you have the /remote switch enabled on your aloha shortcut.

Adam,
thanks for your help...I neglected to say that I did manually register it using the batch file. It still does not show the service in the service manager.

any other ideas?

thanks again
Brian

I've noticed that you cannot have the windows services box open while registering aloha.

I would close all open windows. unregister, then register.

Was EDCSVR and CTLSVR installed to run as a service or application?
