Hey guys... I am new to this POS implementation and I am running Aloha 5.0... I know it is old but it came with the restaurant that I just purchased. The thing that bothers my customers most about the print out is the fact that I can't mask their credit card numbers on BOTH of their receipts, I only have two options coded - 1 for printing the full number on both receipts and the 2nd for not printing the last four digits on the second receipt only. I find this hard to believe that I can't mask both print outs... does anyone know how to code the option to do that?? Thanks

You need to upgrade to at least 5.3.15 to comply with CISP. This upgrade will allow you to mask both copies, but you cannot do it in earlier versions. I know it sucks. If you transfer the key over to your name, you might be able to get a break on the cost of upgrading. Talk to your reseller and they might be able to do something for you.

Adam is right. And to be fully compliant, it actually goes beyond just masking the credit numbers, though I'd say that's the biggest part of it.

This isn't a practical suggestion, but one a few of our customers who were really against upgrading (for whatever reason) processed their credit cards separately, through a swipe machine. Then on the Aloha machine, they simply hit the tender as VISA, MC, etc.. and take Aloha out of the loop in terms of processing the cards.

Given the fact that you just bought a restaurant, I am guessing the extra $2000 you'll need to spend to transfer and upgrade isn't the end of the world (and technically, you may not even need to pay the transfer fee, if the business name hasn't changed). But I thought I'd throw that option out there.

Go ahead and select mask on both. In that version, if you need the number, you can see it in the audit reports.

Thanks guys for the insight... I don't see the option to mask both so it looks as if I have to upgrade... I know that they are now "out" of business...
