Please Help,

Where might I find a Windows 98 driver for a Epson TM-T88II printer (paralell). When I boot the terminal windows tries to configure the new printer I have connected. Does it need to be configured in Windows 98 or is it controled by Aloha. Also, can you tell me if ALOHA needs a windows driver for the printer to work, or does it control the printer directly and not require a windows driver. Oh and one other thing, if the red light is on on the printer by where it says error does this mean the printer is not functioning or is it just configured wrong. Thanks for your help. Joe

Aloha controls the printer.

The red light means the printer is bad. Cutter jammed or something. Turn it on while holding the feed button and it should print a self test. If not, the printer is bad.

IIRC, with the TM-T88IIs, the red error light can come on when the paper cutter hasn't reset itself properly. This can be common with a lot of use and is normally a sign that it's failing but if you manually reset it you can keep it running a while longer.

There's a flap just in front of where the receipt comes out. This can slide off the front of the printer. Under that is a wheel and instructions on how to turn it so realign the cutter. Switch off the printer, follow the instructions and switch it back on, this may clear your error light.
