I just put in a used Aloha system at one of my clients. It runs 6.2. All was looking good, but now, perhaps twice a week they receive the error message "not a valid check number. please re-enter check or table number" when trying to work with open tabs or tables. This occurs whether they are trying to close it or even just add something to a tab. We've found that transferring the tab to a different user will temporarily alleviate the issue but then it comes back after one or two changes to the tabs. I've found that doing a refresh data from BOH fixes the problem until it occurs again. Any ideas? Has anyone had the issue in the past? Any advice is much appreciated; while I've been doing IT support for 15 years, I'm a newbie at Aloha.

THANKS!
Ben

Since you have a used system there is always the risk of errors in the database.
Close Aloha manager
open the newdata folder and delete all the *.CDX and *.tdx files
Then open Aloha manager again. Aloha will create all new cdx, tdx files and in doing so will reindex your system.
See if this solves your issue.
