I recently upgraded a buddies Aloha BOH 6.2 from Windows XP Pro to Vista Pro (We tried Win 7 Pro but the giftcard utility would not run correctly). It was running fine for a few weeks but then someone ran an older Iber reg file and knocked all the services off. I was able to get the CtlSvr registered again in windows however since then when they arrive in the morning they have to log into the Aloha Manager for the END OF DAY to start. As soon as they log in it runs correctly with no errors. The system has no other issues at this point.

Any troubleshooting ideas would be appreciated.

Just an update, the version is actually 6.2.18

The file that was run by accident was an older version of Register_Iber.bat

It appears like the EOD isn't able to start the Aloha Manager, maybe a security issue?

See if CTLSVR is running under the local system account. If it is change it to run under another local Windows account. Example if you have a Windows user called "aloha", make CTLSVR run under this account.

Should CTLSVR show up in the windows services? It only appears in the task manager once I start the Aloha Manager.

If it should be how do I add it? In a network guy so this is a bit out of my usual area.

The Register_Iber.bat file usually does this and yes it should be in there, that's why EOD is not working. Should be something like this - %IBERDIR%\bin\Ctlsvr.EXE /Service /LOCALACCOUNT /iberdir %iberdir% /robust

I'll give that another shot. I double checked and it's not in the services so I was going to manually enter it there but I'll run this again first. Should I register the CTLSVR first or after I run the file?

I tried running the batch file again but it didn't install the service, I went into an older batch file and found the command you mentioned above. I then ran that in an elevated command prompt and it installed asking me which account to use. I configured it to use the aloha "customer" account which is what the other services appear to be using. I will let you know in the morning if it worked but I really appreciate your help!

No luck and now I'm getting an error on one terminal about not being able to read a file on the server. Only one of the register_iber files asks for the account info. When it did I used the main account for the machine, but I'm stuck at this point. Any suggestions. If you can remote in I'm sure they would be willingly to pay.

I second reaching out to AlohaRoss if you haven't already, I'm unfortunately slammed with stuff this week

Will do. The bar is closed on Sunday & Monday so I will probably reach out on Sunday so they aren't live when you take a look.
