hi guys i have aloha 6.1.17,the harddrive used for the front of the house unit crashed and there is no way to get an image for it also i dont have the software cd.anybody can help please,my store is in a mess in the past 2 days .

If it's for the FOH, you don't need the CD, just the Terminst/SetupTrm installer. Look around on the server for it or if not just download the setup files.

can i download this one the same server (BOH) so i can use the same computer for both boh and foh temporarily?

BOH/FOH WILL require a CD, the BOH files need to be installed from the CD and the term setup copies the appropriate files from the BOH.

so it wont work as long as i have no cd.now the steps to follow is to take a copy of the file on a cd or flash drive and install it on the other computer(foh) right ? what about the name of the foh computer ,do i have to name it term1 and would it establish the connection on its own or i have to set up the network with the ip ? thanks

"and would it establish the connection on its own". You will have to give an IP address in the same range the BOH uses

You will also need to have a windows user account/password that matches one already on the BOH

Once the new FOH can talk to the BOH, just run terminst, remember to remove check box about rebooting, it just makes refreshes longer.

After Terminst has run, the computer will reboot, start aloha, register some files, close aloha and then restart aloha. at that point you will be up and running

to double check :is the ip address for foh the same one used for boh? and can it be retrieved by using iconfig from cmd ??

yes, not exact same IP, 192.168.1.XXX or something like this, as long as the first 3 sets are the same 192.168.1.XXX +1 will work
