Ok,
We have talked about tips and what to declare and so on. What I have now is the servers are "forgetting" to clock out and of course we know what that means....not claiming their tips! So..when the manager clocks them out or the EOD does it they (managers) don't have a place to claim there tips and so there is nothing declared including the CC tips. But I am thinking that the CC tips are declared no matter what, right?

Am I correct in thinking that once again this goes back on the manager to keep track of his/her "flock"? Or is there a management function that will allow them to claim there correct tips for the servers? I am just not finding anything on this.

Thanks for any input.

-The CC tips are not automatically declared.

-The place to adjust tips is from Edit Punches in the BOH. You have to wait to the next day of business to make changes from Edit...

"Am I correct in thinking that once again this goes back on the manager to keep track of his/her "flock"?"

YES!

Manage
1 : to handle or direct with a degree of skill: as a : to make and keep compliant
2 : to exercise executive, administrative, and supervisory direction

There are FOH tools that managers should be checking to make sure all employees are punching out at their correct time.

We have our managers check the "Employees clocked in" Report at the FOH. This will show who is currently clocked in. If a manager finds an employee that did not punch out, they are now able to punch the employee out at the correct time, and claim their tips if they are a tipped employee.

Also, when we were having a lot of trouble with employees not punching out and claiming tips, we had servers and bartenders show the manager their clock out slip after they turned in their checkout. This wasn't an ideal ongoing practice, but it did raise employee awareness.

zahead31,
I have a question pertaining to the quote below. I know about the report and I know they can clock them out but how do they adjust/add tips for the employee? I am sure it is right in front of me but I am not sure where to look.

Thanks!!

There are 2 options for clocking out employees.
1. Clock out with their employee number and claim tips
2. Clock the employee out from the FOH managers functions. If you wish to add tips you will have to wait untill the next business day and "edit punches" from the BOH.
