I'm running Magix release 3.0. I have an extension that displays the time and date but will not give tone. When I press speaker, the speaker light comes on but no tone. When I lift the reciever I hear very faint static. I tested the set on another extension and works just fine.

Any Ideas?

Usually when that happens one of the wires are broken off somewhere. Check all connections to phone.

Wiring issue. Check the line cord from the jack first and work your way back to the control unit. i.e. line cord, jack, connection at block.. If the connections are all good, then the cable itself is probably blown.

Well, someone bent the pins in the jack. I replaced it. However, it turns out that the phone works just fine. I have to press the sys/acc button first. Do you know how to program the extension to automatically choose the sys acc? I may just to an extension copy from a working phone.

thanks for your help
