Hi

We are on a network and I am an administrator. We are having trouble sending zip files or database mdb files as attachments to each other or receiving from external emails. Where do I change the settings to allow files of this type? Do I log in as administrator to our mail server or can it be done at the local pc?

Thank you for any help and information.

Les

Sorry I forgot to say we use XP Professional and Outlook 2002 and some clients have Outlook XP.

lesj1968,
i believe this is an ms 'security enhancement' at least for the mdb files. best suggestion is what we do, change the extension before attaching, send mail, have end user pull file off of email and then switch the extension back.
regards,
longhair

The rename trick will work, but many "executable" file types are blocked by default in newer versions of Outlook.

You can unblock them on a client by client basis:
